How much do you value Lotus petal in this kind of deck? I feel like if you are not going to combo off the turn you use the mana OR going to recurr it for value later, it is a bit awkward to take a spot for one extra mana one time in the game. But I think you are right saying it won't draw as much as the other options and discarding isn't necessarily great. I must admit that if you stick this to the board you are probably already in a good position and it is a win more card.įor neheb, my thought was that if I could combine card draw and a nice body, that would synergize and take only one slot in my deck instead of two different cards. I had lurking predators in my Gishath deck (that I also dismantle to go with xenagos) and it was a real good card. I think your meta might be a bit more competitive than mine and that is why you are looking at a faster pace. Thanks for your answer, very usefull info out there. So putting them at the bottom isn’t ideal. By the time it sticks you usually have enough mana to cast what you want, you usually have a decent board state. I’ve tried it in decks a few times and haven’t been happy. Then maybe ] to ramp red or some rituals. Green has a lot of ramp so it shouldn’t be an issue. Then have cards like selvala or Neheb to ramp into larger creatures. But other than that I’ll just have mana dorks to ramp into Xenagos early. Chrome Mox, mana vault, sol ring and lotus petal. My deck will have my usual mana rock package. I would want the deck to be fast enough that my hand won’t be full enough to make use of the ability. You’re almost not going to net more that 3-4 mana when you discard. Are all better options than discarding your hand. I think green has enough card draw that we don’t need to put the ] into the deck.
